Terms of Service
Last updated September 26, 2026. Readee Learning LLC.
Agreement to terms
By accessing or using Readee, operated by Readee Learning LLC (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. If you are creating an account on behalf of a child, you represent that you are the child's parent or legal guardian.
Account responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date. You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Readee only for its intended purpose, supporting children's reading education. You may not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users' experience.
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute Readee content without permission.
- Create accounts using false or misleading information.
Subscription terms
Free Readee gives your family a starting point. Readee+ opens the ongoing reading program:
- Free Readee: one child per account, the assessment and full report, one recommended lesson with teaching and practice, and today's Daily Readee with recorded narration and questions. You can return to the report and replay that lesson without a subscription.
- Readee+ ($9.99 per month, or $6.99 per month billed annually as $83.88 per year): includes the lesson library, practice, stories, the Daily Readee archive, Luna, and parent reports for one child per account. For first-time subscribers. Your 14-day trial starts when you complete checkout. Payment details are required. Your chosen plan renews automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel.
Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your Readee+ subscription at any time from your account settings. After cancelling, you keep Readee+ access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for, then your subscription is required for the ongoing reading program. Your child's progress is preserved. Your assessment report, included free lesson, and today's Daily Readee remain available.
Eligible first-time subscribers receive a 14-day free trial and are not charged if you cancel before it ends. Annual subscriptions include a 14-day money-back guarantee. Monthly subscriptions are not refunded for partial billing periods. For full details, see our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Who can use Readee
Readee is for families. An account is created and held by a parent or legal guardian, who then adds a child profile to it. If you create an account for a child under 13, you confirm that you are that child's parent or legal guardian. Children do not create their own accounts and cannot sign up without a parent.
AI-generated content
Parts of Readee are generated with artificial intelligence, including the daily reading, the practice library, generated stories, and audio narration. Lessons are written by our reading teacher and reviewed by her.
AI output is provided as-is. We check it before it reaches a child, and anything that fails a check is rewritten or discarded, but no automated review is perfect. If you find something wrong in a passage or a question, email hello@readee.app and we will correct or remove it.
You may use content Readee generates for your own family's learning. The United States Copyright Office's current position is that material generated by AI without significant human authorship is not eligible for copyright, and nothing in these Terms changes that.
Children's data
Readee is directed to children and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. A parent account is required before any child profile can exist. A child profile stores a first name and reading progress. We do not collect a child's email address, surname, or contact details, we do not serve advertising to children, and we do not sell personal information. Our Privacy Policy sets out what is collected and how to delete it.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, and we will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so. When an account is deleted, its content is removed from our active systems within thirty days; backups expire on their own cycle.
Dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any formal proceeding, please email hello@readee.app so we can try to resolve the matter directly. We read every message and it is usually faster for both of us.
Intellectual property
All content on Readee, including lessons, assessments, stories, illustrations, and software, is owned by Readee or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission.
Limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Readee does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Readee shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
