About Readee
Made because the apps weren't teaching reading.
Jen teaches reading for a living. She kept watching kids in her classroom use the popular apps and still arrive every fall unable to decode. The apps were games dressed up as learning. So we built Readee. Short, structured lessons that actually work.
Why we started.
Lots of kids struggle with reading. Most of them can learn, they just weren't taught the way reading actually works. The flashy apps don't teach it. They reward tapping.
Readee teaches reading the way the best schools teach it. Sounds first, then words, then sentences. No guessing from pictures, no memorizing whole words like they're shapes. The boring stuff that works.
Built for K to 4th grade.
Ages 5 to 10. Whether your kid is just learning their letters or already reading chapter books, the placement test puts them at the right level and builds from there.
Each lesson is about 10 minutes. Short enough they don't hate it. Long enough that it adds up, fast.

What sound each letter makes, and how to put them together to read a word. The base of everything.

Noticing the parts inside a word, rhymes, the first sound, the middle sound. Before reading, kids have to hear it.

Reading fast enough that the brain has room left over for understanding the sentence, not just decoding it.

Words they know
Hearing and using new words enough times that they stick. When a new word shows up, it feels familiar.

What was that about? Who did what? Why? The whole point of reading.
