A Wet New Year in Thailand

A Wet New Year in Thailand

Read-aloud narration is available in Readee+.

Salma and Camila learned about a special holiday. It was Songkran, a New Year celebration in Thailand. This holiday happens when spring turns to summer there. People clean their homes to welcome the new year with a fresh start. They saw pictures of big fun. Families gather to share food and visit temples. But the most exciting part was the water! People gently pour water on statues of Buddha. Then, everyone splashes each other. Kids run around with buckets and water guns. It is a joyful time, full of laughter and cool water. This water means good luck for the new year. Salma and Camila thought it looked like the best water party ever!
