A note from Jen
Every child deserves to feel confident when they read.
I'm a reading teacher with over 6 years of experience teaching kindergarten through 5th grade, and I'm currently teaching 3rd grade. I have my Master's in Reading from Slippery Rock University and my bachelor's in Elementary Education from West Chester University.
I created Readee because I've seen too many children struggle with reading simply because they haven't been taught the skills they need.
Readee brings real reading instruction into short, simple 10-minute lessons your child can do at home. Phonics, sounding out words, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. All the skills I teach in my classroom, made easy for families to use anywhere.
I write every lesson and review every question. The bunny makes it fun, but the reading is the serious part.
If you're wondering where your child stands or what they should be working on, start with our free assessment. You'll get a clear picture of their reading skills and what to work on next.
Readee+ uses your child's assessment results to create a customized learning journey.

Five to ten, kindergarten through 4th grade. The free assessment finds where they read today and the lessons go from there.
About 10 minutes. We built it for the child who's done after a snack and a song. Consistency beats marathons.
Any laptop, tablet or phone microphone works. The browser will ask for permission once. Your child's recording is stored privately and is never sold or used for advertising.
Yes. If the word lists show they are not reading words yet, Luna switches to letter sounds and blending, tapped rather than spoken, and the report tells you where to start.
Stop any time. What was measured before you stopped still counts and you can pick it up later.
Most reading apps are games with reading bolted on. Readee is reading lessons with a little game on top. Phonics, decodable stories, comprehension. The same approach the best literacy programs use in schools.
Different families prefer different approaches. Readee combines a reading-teacher-led curriculum, oral reading with Luna, and an assessment report that describes word reading, independent reading, and listening understanding. Start with the free assessment and explore the public samples to see whether the approach suits your family.
Jennifer Klingerman, a certified reading specialist, leads the curriculum and lesson review. Daily readings also use automated checks for reading level, factual accuracy, and question quality. We use review findings and family feedback to correct content.
Readee teaches reading the structured, explicit, sound-first way, which is the approach reading specialists recommend for children who find reading hard. In practice that means predictable structure, calm visuals, short sessions, audio on every piece of text, and consistent pacing. Practice answers are untimed; the assessment includes a timed reading sample. Wrong answers receive supportive feedback. We are not a diagnostic or a treatment, and we do not claim results for any diagnosis. If your child has an IEP or is being evaluated, Readee is meant to sit alongside that work, not replace it.
Yes. Readee is built to COPPA, the US law that covers children under 13. We do not sell data, we do not run third-party ads, and payments go through Stripe so we never see your card. Your child's voice recordings are stored privately, are only reachable through short-lived signed links, and you can delete them from Settings at any time.
Readee is built for families. Each account is for one child, on Free or Readee+. There is no classroom or district version yet. If you teach and you want to talk anyway, email hello@readee.app.
You do not have to guess.
You will see the level, the speed and the plan before you decide anything about paying us. If your child is already at grade level, the report will say so.
